Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. William K. Knapp, age 59, of Jefferson who passed away Sunday, February 7, 2010. Mr. Knapp, born in Monticello, New York, was a son of the late, Arthur Theodore Knapp, Jr. and Mrs. Ruth Kinne Knapp of Mongaup Valley, New York. He was retired carpenter with Charles Black Construction, retiring after 35 years; and was a retired Veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Knapp was an avid hunter and fisherman; and was a member of the Sons of Thunder Motorcycle Ministry. Bill had a strong faith in the Lord and enjoyed reaching out and ministering to others.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Taylor Knapp of Jefferson; brothers and sisters, Cathy Carnesi, Ruth Saloman, Alice Witherel, Arthur Knapp, and Kenneth Knapp all residing in New York; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 11, 2010 from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Roland Henderson officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 11th from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at Evans Funeral Home, 1350 Winder Highway Jefferson, GA 706-367-5467.
